EPD – environmental product declarations
What is an EPD environmental product declaration?
An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a standards-based, third-party verified document that describes the environmental impacts of a product throughout its entire life cycle — from raw material extraction and manufacturing to use and end-of-life.
The preparation of an EPD is guided by the European standard EN 15804 and the international standard ISO 14025. These standards ensure that the documented information is transparent, comparable and consistent. An EPD can be prepared for an individual product or for an entire product group when the products are similar in terms of materials and manufacturing processes.
Building Act as a background driver
The new Building Act by the Ministry of the Environment entered into force at the beginning of 2025. As a result, the construction provisions of the Land Use and Building Act will be repealed and the name of the remaining act will change to the Land Use Act. Some of the changes will enter into force on 1 January 2026.
The Building Act – which will in future be the Land Use Act – requires a material declaration and climate report for certain buildings. As part of this documentation, an EPD serves as a document that the builder or contractor attaches to the building’s climate report.

The luminaire comes with a satin film that reduces glare and provides even light. You can increase the light output by removing the film. Optimus MP is suitable for industrial spaces, commercial buildings, warehouses, parking garages, carports, hallways and damp areas.
Marketta
The domestic, energy-efficient Marketta luminaire series has been designed specifically with the lighting needs of commercial premises and stores in mind. Marketta is also suitable for spaces where high-quality general lighting is needed. The structure of the luminaire has been optimised by minimising the use of materials, making it as cost-effective, ecological and lightweight as possible. The lightweight structure also makes handling and installation of the luminaire easy and effortless. Various installation kits are available as ready-made solutions and customised. Marketta is designed in Kerava and manufactured at Airam’s factory in Lahti. The product has been awarded the Key Flag symbol.
InduProof
InduProof is an energy-efficient industrial luminaire equipped with a wide range of features. The luminaire’s LED module and driver are replaceable, giving the luminaire a long service life. The luminaire has a switch that allows the luminous flux to be adjusted between four different levels. The series is available in two lengths and can be surface-mounted, suspended or installed on a horizontal wire suspension. It is suitable for parking garages, storage facilities and industrial assembly lines.
Lumino
Lumino is a high-quality and long-lasting general luminaire for residential buildings and public sites. The luminaire has a refined appearance and provides even, high-quality light.
