EPD – Environmental Product Declarations

EPD Environmental Product Declarations are available
EPD (Environmental Product Declarations) are currently being prepared for Airam products. The documents are available for Vario, Optimus MP, InduProof, Marketta and Pinea.
What is an EPD?
An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a standards-based, third-party verified document that describes the environmental impacts of a product throughout its entire life cycle — from raw material extraction and manufacturing to use and end-of-life.
The preparation of an EPD is guided by the European standard EN 15804 and the international standard ISO 14025. These standards ensure that the documented information is transparent, comparable and consistent. An EPD can be prepared for an individual product or for an entire product group when the products are similar in terms of materials and manufacturing processes.
Building Act as a Background Driver
The new Building Act introduced by the Ministry of the Environment entered into force at the beginning of 2025. Some amendments will take effect on 1 January 2026. Environmental information required in construction documentation can be presented in several ways, and an EPD offers one clear and verified method for presenting this information in a standardized format.

What are the benefits of an EPD?
An EPD provides:
• Comparable and standardized environmental information between different products
